B. Analysis
As we can see on the learning
outcome in syllabus, we can say that it is appropriate in their major is
engineering. Why so? We can see that the learning outcome of this course is
Students can explaingeometrical shapes, job application , position , quantity
expression , natural and artificial process , manual , america and
britishenglish , public speaking , mathematical formula , the interview , the
table graphics and diagrams , and presentation, this syllabus show if the major
of engineering studied englis in general.
Then, students
should be able to understand the material being taught lecturer, faculty of
engineering in the syllabus we can see that the technical school to learn
English in general or their use English for general (ESG). basically, his
learning strategy samayaitu teacher explained later question and answer
interaction.
Based on the result of interviews to
some students said that their lecture teach very well and make the students
understand with the course. When the learning teaching process, they use
bilingual language are Indonesia and English. They lecture teach appropriate
with syllabus that they have and with the clear material. The lecture also uses
LCD because most students prefer
to learn using high-tech systems. She always gives an assignment appropriate with the
material and the assessment is very objective. She likes an active students and
talkative, and the student that always ask a question to her. When they meet
out of class, they always use English language.
CONCLUSION
In
my opinion, the english lessons learned in the school of engineering is a
common English language , which is studied ; geometrical shapes, job
application , position , quantity expression , natural and artificial process ,
manual , america and britishenglish , public speaking , mathematical formula ,
the interview , the table graphics and diagrams , and presentation . all the
English common and basically had studied at the school level before . so , I
think this syllabus has been good enough to be studied in the faculty of engineering
at the universities of Islam Riau because it includes aspects of general
English language that should be understood.
